The older I get the more people I know in heaven. I believe there comes a time in a person’s life when he actually has more loved ones in eternity than he does on earth. We have all walked away from the grave with a feeling of sorrow and sadness, but never hopelessness, if the person was saved.
We have the promise from God’s Word of a glorious reunion. The apostle Paul gave us comforting words when we said, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
When Christ returns there will be saints of God that return with Him, and there will also be saints of God alive on the earth. We which are alive will be “caught up together with them in the clouds.” We will be with our loved ones again. We will see them again. We will know them again; but we will know them without sin and imperfections. We will see them without sickness, pain, and sorrow. And the best part, we will join them in the clouds to meet the Lord. What a happy, glad reunion day!
