March 31 – Keeping it All in Balance

Balance |

I recently had a slack tire on my car.  After driving on it a couple of days in that condition I knew I needed to get some air.  I checked to see if there was a nail in the tire but there wasn’t; so I tried to overcompensate by putting more air in it than required.  It didn’t take me long to realize that having additional air in the tire was just as bad as having a slack tire the reason being: It was not balanced with the other tires.

As you know, our vehicles drive more smoothly when all four tires are properly aligned and balanced.  If one tire has more or less air than the other tires it will affect the ride.

When we fail to properly maintain and balance the key areas of our lives, we too will experience a bumpier ride.  If we concentrate solely on one area or if we neglect one area, we are certain to get off balance.

Make a list of what is important to you: faith, family, friendships, finances, health, personal growth, etc.  Examine each “tire” to see if you are either concentrating too much or too little in a particular area.  Why not check your gauges today and make the necessary adjustments; a life out of balance will certainly make for a bumpy ride.
