You didn’t have to remove yourself very far from your bed this morning to realize the blessings of God. They are all around us-His goodness and gifts abound. Have you seen them yet today? Your spouse, your children, your home, your Bible, your vehicle, your clothes, your food, your accommodations, your money, your retirement, your assets and possessions. At every turn, in every room, within every closet, and at every moment we are inundated with the favor of God.
Have you ever wondered why God has blessed in so many ways? Have you ever considered that God has a purpose behind those blessings? He has not just given us good gifts because He is good (although He is infinitely good); He has given us good gifts so that we can use them for His honor and glory. God has a purpose for those possessions. So, how do we honor God with all that He has given? We honor Him by realizing we are simply stewards of His stuff.
We even might consider giving some of it away. I know that seems antithetical to the American Dream, but God has not given abundantly so that we can amass a personal kingdom of wealth and riches. I want to challenge you to take inventory of your blessings, and ask “how can I honor God with what He has abundantly given?” When you find the answer to that question, you’ll find the true treasure of your wealth.
