December 11 – History-Maker

In his book, Crazy Love, Francis Chan shares a story about a young girl who had a desire to give Bibles to her unsaved friends.  Brooke Bronkowski, a fourteen-year old freshman in high school, would earn money by babysitting so she could purchase the Bibles.  When youth leaders heard of her ministry, they would bring boxes of Bibles to Brooke so she could give them away.  Brooke literally had hundreds of Bibles in her garage to give her friends.

During her freshman year she was in a tragic auto accident that took her life.  More than 1500 people attended her funeral.  Francis Chan shared the Gospel with the large crowd and over 200 students and friends came to the altar and trusted Christ as their Savior.  Each person who trusted Christ received a Bible, courtesy of Brooke Bronkowski. An essay she wrote was included in the book.  In her own words she prophetically said, “You see, I’ll be one of those people who live to be a history-maker at a young age.”

No matter if you live to be 14 or 114, life is short.  Brooke led more people to the Lord through her death than most people will ever do in their life.  Today you have been given an opportunity to make change, to make a difference, to make history. In this 24-hour period, determine to impact eternity for someone else.
