When all is said and done, the only vision that really matters is our vision of God.  The prophet Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up.  When he saw the Lord in His exalted position, the prophet ultimately, and dreadfully, saw himself.  Life only makes sense in relation to our view and vision of God.

     George Barna said, “Vision for ministry is a clear mental image of a preferable future imparted by God to His chosen servants and is based upon an accurate understanding of God, self, and circumstances.” Such a vision is not only necessary for ministry, but for life itself.

     Goals, dreams, aspirations, and resolutions only seem valid in light of the honor and glory of God.  The further along I get in the journey of faith, the more I realize the significance of God’s glory.  No wonder the apostle Paul said, “…whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

     We should not be asking whether or not our vision includes God.  We should be asking, is our vision of God?  If our vision is of God and from God, He will give us the means, resources, and abilities to see that vision fulfilled.  If it is not from Him or of Him, it is not worth a second glance.
