The most important thing you can do for another person is call their name before the throne of grace. Nothing says “I love you and care for you” more than prayer. But how do we pray for others? In the first chapter of Colossians, the apostle Paul gives us instruction on how to specifically pray for those we love:
Pray for their Wisdom. “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.” Colossians 1:9
Pray for their Walk. “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” Colossians 1:10
Pray for their Weaknesses. “Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness.” Colossians 1:11
Pray for their Worship. Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:” Colossians 1:12
Praying over these four areas will better equip your friends and family to understand and know the will of God.
