“If Christians spent as much time praying as they do grumbling, they would soon have nothing to grumble about” –Unknown
Since 1928, the Varsity Restaurant has been a fixture in Atlanta culture. It has the world’s largest drive-through, accommodating six hundred cars at any given time; and the capacity to serve eight hundred people on the inside. It is known for its world-famous chili, greasy onion rings, and delicious peach-pies. Anyone who has ever visited the Varsity will immediately be faced with the famous question, “WHAT”LL YA HAVE?”
I recently took my family to the restaurant for the first time. As soon as we entered the premise, we could hear that question echoing down the hallway and through the stairwell –WHAT”LL YA HAVE? It is the question every cashier is required to ask every customer. It originated years ago to keep the lines moving on busy game days, and has become an iconic slogan for the restaurant.
If the Lord asked you that question today, what would you ask for? Obviously, God doesn’t operate in such greasy fashion; but I do believe He wants to give us good gifts. What is the desire of your heart? What is your request? What problems do you need solved? What questions do you need answered? James said, “Ye have not because ye ask not.” Again I ask, if you could ask the Lord for anything, what’ll ya have?
